How It’s Different
One fleet, one comms channel.
A shore-based drone unit and a picture boat are two productions running in parallel. On the Basilisk, aerial and surface are one operation — same captain, same DIT, same wireless video pipeline. Pilots see what the boat sees. The Dark Room grades both feeds simultaneously.

How far offshore can you fly drones from the Basilisk?+
The Basilisk's Marine Drone Control Unit runs long-range RF with dedicated telemetry links, extending drone operations well beyond visual line of sight from shore. Actual range depends on aircraft, payload, and FAA operational approvals for the shoot.
Do you provide licensed drone pilots and the aircraft?+
Yes. We fly with FAA Part 107 certified pilots and can supply aircraft from lightweight FPV rigs to heavy-lift cinema drones, matched to the shot. We also integrate client-supplied drone teams into the Basilisk's comms and video pipeline.
Can drone footage be graded live from the boat?+
Yes. Aerial video is transmitted to the Basilisk's on-board Dark Room via Wave Central RF, where a Cyanview station applies live shading and grading so aerial and surface footage stay color-matched from the first take.
