A vessel is a claim. The people running it are the proof. Every water day on the Basilisk is run by the same three seats — a licensed captain, a camera arm operator, and a DIT in the Dark Room.
The group.
Terrific Watercraft Films operates the marine side of a production equipment group. The Basilisk is a Chameleon 3 — built by Chameleon MPV, who make the mobile production vehicles that work the land side of the same call sheets. Extreme Jibs supplies the crane and jib systems. When a production needs the boat, the truck and the arm on the same job, they come from one group and one point of contact.
One acronym, two vehicles.
MPV means two things in this group, and the difference matters when you are booking. A Multipurpose Production Vessel is the boat — the Basilisk, working on water. A Mobile Production Vehicle is the truck — Chameleon's land unit, working from a parking lot. Same modular philosophy, same group, two different surfaces.
