Where can you film on the water in Miami?+
Biscayne Bay, Miami Beach, Government Cut, the Port of Miami approach, Haulover Inlet and the Intracoastal are all routine working waters for the Basilisk. Offshore runs into the Gulfstream are standard for blue-water work.
Do you need a permit to film from a boat in Miami?+
Most Miami water shoots need some combination of USCG, city or county and — inside the park — Biscayne National Park coordination. We handle the permitting as part of the shoot plan; you approve the locations.
Is there a travel fee for Miami shoots?+
No. Miami is the Basilisk's home port, so Miami-Dade shoots carry no mobilization charge. Day rates are published at terrificwatercraftfilms.com/rates.
How fast can you crew a Miami shoot?+
The vessel, captain, crane operator and DIT are the same local crew every day. For straightforward days we can often confirm inside 24 hours; permitted or multi-configuration days need more lead time.
